Bespoke companion bench made for North Yorkshire customer.
Posted on December 21, 2022
We were commissioned by a customer to make a bespoke companion bench and table for a private residence in North Yorkshire. Set onto his own concrete base, and located in a secluded private setting two miles from the nearest road, the wooden bench was designed to compliment the customers cottage which originated from the 18th century.
Situated down a secluded rutted gravel track, across sheep fields, up and down dale, this bench is positioned to allow the user to enjoy magnificent views of coastal bays, the north sea and seal colonies.
How we designed this bench
This companion bench and table is actually a combination of two of our leading bench designs, The Scarborough bench and the Helmsley Companion bench.
The backrest on the Helmsley companion bench is actually based on our classic flagship York bench but we decided to swap that out for the curvaceous backrest of the Scarborough bench while retaining the table top shape of the Helmsley.
The bench also employed the contour arms that are shared with both the York and the Scarborough benches and the back rail was inscribed with a personal inscription.
We hope our customer along with his family and friends will enjoy the North Yorkshire sea views many times and create some happy memories using it.
